artist bio

Jayde Dunphy is a visual artist based in Dublin. Her work explores themes raised by the medium of the internet in all it’s forms: as a communication device, as an art medium, as a capitalist creation, and as a political force. Her work spans a variety of mediums, from printed matter to web experiences, digital art, videography and more.

Her current practice is following the ideas of permacomputing further, and trying to explore it’s use as both a necessary part of a very likely future in our current times, and also an opportunity for artists and art spaces to break the conventions of computer design by AND for the needs of the artist, in a way that is transparent, maintainable, and approachable.

She’s also little tired, a lot burned out, and kinda sick of writing artist bios.

As soon as you finish a film, people want you to talk about it.
And, it’s… the film is the talking, the film is the thing, so you go see the film.
That’s the thing, it’s the whole thing, and it’s there, and that’s it.

But alas.
